MILOŠ ŠOBAJIĆ: ON THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN REALITY AND DREAM

We invite you to the opening of the exhibition ON THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN REALITY AND DREAM, by Miloš Šobajić, at LA GORA Winery, on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 5:30 PM.

The exhibition dedicated to the work of painter and sculptor Miloš Šobajić (1944–2021) offers an insight into one of the most powerful and recognizable artistic oeuvres of contemporary Serbian art. Through a selection of works created in different phases of his career, visitors will have the opportunity to follow the development of the artist’s unique visual language—from early compositions filled with numerous figures to later works dominated by the powerful, often distorted human figure as a symbol of the existential drama of modern humanity.

Šobajić’s oeuvre is marked by strong expressive intensity, vivid color, and dynamic gesture, through which the artist explores themes of human solitude, fear, hope, and the struggle for meaning in a world shaped by social and historical turbulence. Developed between Belgrade and Paris, his artistic practice encompasses painting, sculpture, and spatial installations, in which the human figure gradually transforms—from a recognizable form into an almost abstract trace of presence.

The exhibition recalls an artist who, throughout his entire career, persistently searched for the truth about humanity and its destiny, creating works on the boundary between reality and dream, between personal experience and the universal drama of human existence.

At the opening, the guests will be addressed by Dr. Jelena Medaković, Secretary for Culture of the City of Belgrade, and curator Saša Janjić.

A reception and cocktail will follow the official opening.
